Minister of state in the prime minister’s office, Jitendra Singh Wednesday accused Farooq Abdullah of recalling past events only for his own convenience.
“Farooq Abdullah’s words are not credible as he hasdeveloped a habit of often changing his statements because he is suffering from’selective’ recall of history,” Singh said while reacting to Abdullah’sstatement alleging PDP brought BJP to Jammu and Kashmir.
“Before PDP, FarooqAbdullah was NDA’s partner and when Masood Azhar was released Abdullah waschief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and his son (Omar Abdullah) was MOS externalaffairs.”
Masood Azhar was released in 1999 by the Atal BihariVajpayee government in exchange of passengers held hostage on board IC-814flight which was hijacked to Kandahar in Afghanistan.
“The ministry (external affairs ) Farooq’s son held was dealingwith this affair, so going by the principal of collective responsibility of thegovernment MOS is as much responsible as minister,” Singh said, asking why thejunior Abdullah of National Conference did not resign at the time.
“Why didn’t he raise protest? Where is dissent note put byhim? And now suddenly 20 year later they have grown wise.”
Singh said he would not “allow this jugglery to carry on”.
“We would go to the public and expose this duplicity of theKashmir centric leader.”
On Farooq Abdullah’s jibe over the recent airstrikes onPakistan as political propaganda, Singh alleged the NC stalwart as part of NDArepeatedly request then home minister to go for war with Pakistan.
Singh also said that the incumbent government’s resolve tofight militancy would continue reach a logical conclusion.
On deferment of Assembly election, Singh said, ‘Thoseboycotted Panchayat and Municipal election on Article 35 -A now eagerly want tocontest same. People will teach them befitting lesson for duplicity.”
