London education group holds education summit in Srinagar

The London Education Group (LEG) on Wednesday held an education summit here in Srinagar. The event was organized in collaboration with Private Schools Association Kashmir (PSAK) and was attended by hundreds of students from different private schools of Kashmir.

The theme of the function was “Changing horizons of global education and emerging trends in global careers”.

Speaking at the occasion, director and co-founder of LEG Rup Chahal said LEG wants to work in Kashmir and reach out to every school to bring a change in the education system.

“We believe in our mission– to change lives for the better through education,” she said.

She said LEG believes to create a platform without barriers for the students in Kashmir who want to carve their own niche in various streams.

“We will work with students and parents in Kashmir and expose them to the options available at the international level and trends in global careers,” Rup said.

Noted academician, Prof Tariq Chalkoo, delivered a power point presentation on the event and said there was a need to evolve with time and become knowledge gatherers instead of job gatherers.

“But right now we have to relate the education with employability and that is what we are doing in terms of educational institutions and education policies,” he said.

PSAK president G N Var and deputy superintendent of Police Sheikh Adil Mushtaq also spoke at the occasion.
