Principal SKIMS Bemina, (JVC) Dr Reyaz A Untoo on Saturday commissioned oxygen concentration plant with a capacity of 750 Lpm to provide better care for COVID19 patients at the hospital.
At present, 31 COVID19 positive patients are receivingtreatment at the hospital. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal said thework on the plant which has a standby compressor and dryer, was expedited forthe better functioning of the designated COVID19 hospital at SKIMS, Bemina.
Besides, the Principal said the plant can run six to 10 moreventilators over and above the existing four. He stated it will also help inincreasing bed strength from existing 20 to 80 to 174.
The Principal appreciated the efforts of engineering wingand coordinator SKIMS Medical College in upgrading infrastructural facilitiesrequired to upgrade SKIMS Bemina into a full-fledged COVID19 hospital.
He complimented doctor, nurses, paramedical and othersupportive staff for putting their best efforts in the management of COVID19patients.
