Protest, shutdown at Shahgund against thrashing of 2 teachers

Protests erupted at Shahgund village of Hajin area of district Bandipora against army for allegedly beating two teachers inside a tuition centre there.

Reports said that forces allegedly thrashed two teachers who were teaching inside the government-run Super 50 coaching centre in Shah Gund village. The incident triggered clashes between government forces and youth. As the news spread in the village, locals staged protest against the army and observed a spontaneous shutdown.

   

However, police claimed that after an army patrol passing through the village came under stone pelting, forces barged into the nearby school where CM super-50 coaching was going on. They allegedly thrashed teachers there accusing them of stone pelting.

Immediately after the incident, locals observed complete shutdown in the area. (KASHMIR WIRE)
