The farmers in Karnah area of Kupwara on Wednesday expressed their resentment over outbreak of rice blast disease in their area.
A delegation of farmers from the area said 75% of their paddy crop has been damaged by the disease.
They accused Agriculture Department of inaction.
“The department failed to provide necessary chemical sprays to overcome rice blast,” they said.
The worst affected areas include Kandi, Khwarpara, Lountha, Sharthpalla, Tangdhar, Gomal, Suleiman, Nowpora, Baghbella, Hajinar, Nechian and Shamspora.
