Stray dog attack leaves 23 persons injured in Kupwara

Kupwara, Mar 9:  Stray dogs Saturday attacked and injured twenty three persons in Main Town Kupwara causing terror among the locals.

Locals said that a pack of stray dogs struck in Malik Mohalla and other adjacent areas, leaving at least twenty three persons injured. Injured were immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara for treatment.

   

Medical Superintendent (MS), SDH Kupwara Dr Mohammad Shafi told Greater Kashmir that a total of twenty three persons were received at the health facility who had suffered injuries of different sorts.

“The injured had mainly leg injuries. They were treated by specialist doctors. The injured largely remain out of danger,” he added.

Meanwhile locals have appealed to concerned authorities to take necessary steps to safeguard locals from canine attacks.
