Syed Salahuddin not stepping down:Hizb

The militant outfit Hizbul Mujahedeen on Tuesday rebutted reports about its supremo Syed Salahuddin stepping down from his position anytime soon.

Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi said the report was in circulation some time ago and under a well-planned conspiracy it has been floated again.

“This report has been circulated on the behest of Indian agencies. Syed Salahuddin is the head of Hizb and United Jihad Council and there is no truth about the report published by an Indian Daily,” Hashmi was quoted by local news agency CNS as having said.

Hashmi said Salahuddin enjoys support of militants and freedom loving people.

“India has failed on every front in Kashmir and now it is using its media to malign the image of UJC Chief,” said Hashmi.
