Kupwara, June 24: An eight months old toddler and a nonagenarian were killed while eight persons were injured when a cab they were travelling in met an accident near Jabdi area in Karnah area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
An official said that the incident took place at around 11 am when the driver lost control over the vehicle (JK05B 8799).
He said that the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jabri while on way to Tangdhar.
“The toddler and a 90-year-old man were found dead on the spot and eight others were rescued in a critical condition,” he said.
The injured were immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital Tangdhar where from three injured were referred to Srinagar in a critical condition for advance treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Safdar Ali, 90, and eight-months-old Afan.
