1185 new COVID cases, 11 deaths in J&K

Srinagar, June 8: A day after recording below 1000 Covid-19 cases, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday witnessed a slight increase as 1184 new cases were reported while 11 deaths attributed to Covid were reported.

As the infection cases reported on a daily basis have continuously shown a decline, the number of fatalities attributed to the viral respiratory illness is also in downfall.

   

It is after a period of two months that J&K reported 11 deaths due to Covid-19 in a day. Out of 11 deaths, five were

reported from Jammu division and six from Kashmir division. The total tally of deaths in J&K due to Covid since the outbreak of pandemic has reached 4101.

As per the details shared by the health department, 03 persons died in GMC Jammu, 02 GMC Rajouri, 02 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 01 in JLNM Hosp Sgr & 02 in GMC Anantnag.

A day after witnessing below 1000 daily infection cases, on Tuesday 1184 Covid-19 positive cases were reported in J&K out of 44980 tests (RAT, RT-PCR), 421 from Jammu division and 763 from Kashmir division were tested positive.

Srinagar reported 245 cases, Baramulla 109, Budgam 89, Pulwama 84, Kupwara 60, Anantnag 55, Bandipora 37, Ganderbal 29, Kulgam 42, Shopian 13, Jammu 75, Udhampur 27, Rajouri 40, Doda 74, Kathua 35, Samba 22, Kishtwar 12, Poonch 64, Ramban 37 and Reasi 35.

In the last 24 hours, 2880 patients have recovered from Covid-19. With an increase in the number of recovered patients, the number of active cases in the last couple days have come from 30,000 to 21817, of which 13674 are in Kashmir division and 8143 in Jammu division.

Once again the number of patients recovered from deadly diseases has outnumbered infection cases. On Tuesday, 2880 patients recovered from Covid taking the total number of recoveries to 276733.

With a decline in active decline the number of patients admitted in hospitals too has witnessed a decline.

As per the details, 1541 patients are admitted in hospitals, and the government has kept 5792 hospital beds for Covid patients across Jammu and Kashmir.
