2 Kashmiri innovators awarded by Akshay Kumar

Two Kashmiri innovators were awarded Rs 5 lakh each by Akshay Kumar on the occasion of song release of his movie Padman at Bhaidas Hall Mumbai on Friday.

Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, 34, from Kreeri village of Anantnag’s Doru Shahabad area, a national award winner for walnut cracker machine, and Mohammad Rafiq Ahanger, again a national award winner from Magam, Anantnag, who has many innovations to his credit got the cash prizes on teaser release of Padman’s upcoming track ‘O Saale Sapne’.

   

The hero of Padman movie took his twitter handle and posted “Dream, Work and innovate. The song for all the innovators #OSaale Sapne from@PadMan theFlim coming soon.”

The movie is about Arunachalam Muruganantham, the south Indian social entrepreneur who has designed cost-effective sanitary napkins for rural women. In the movie, Akshay is playing his role as ‘Rustom’. The story revolves around the idea of the ‘Rustom’ star-making sanitary napkins for women by spreading the message of menstrual hygiene. The film will be realized on January 25. At the event, 16 innovators from across the country were awarded the cash prize of Rs 5 lakh to each, which include Mushtaq and Rafiq from Kashmir.
