Restrictions in Srinagar areas today

The Srinagar district administration on Tuesday decided to impose restrictions in some areas of the summer capital on Wednesday in view of the shutdown called by separatists against the killing of two youths by army in Handwara.

The Srinagar district administration on Tuesday decided to impose restrictions in some areas of the summer capital on Wednesday in view of the shutdown called by separatists against the killing of two youths by army in Handwara.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone, said restrictions will be imposed in areas falling under six police stations including Rainawari, Maharajgunj, Nowhatta, Khanyar, Safakadal and Maisuma. 

Lone however said the Sikh community which is celebrating Baisakhi festival on Wednesday, will be allowed to move during the day.
