Omar, Mamta march to RashtrapatiBhavan against cash chaos

Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday was joined by leaders of the Shiv Sena, National Conference and AamAadmi Party in a march to RashtrapatiBhavan to protest against the problems caused to people over the government's demonetisation move.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah was among leaders who took part in the march that started from the Parliament House premises.

The leaders presented a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee over their demands concerning the decision to demonetise 500 and 1,000 rupee notes.

About 40 MPs took part in the march.

Shiv Sena MP AnandraoAdsul said they were not against the decision to demonetise currency but at the way it had been implemented.

"We are not against the decision but the way it has been implemented. On that we are supporting Trinamool Congress. The decision should have been implemented with proper preparations," Adsul told IANS.

AamAadmi Party MLA Bhagwant Mann, former union minister Sultan Ahmed and Shiv Sena MP ArvindSawant were among those who joined the march.
