Businessman Javed Ahmad Tenga was on Thursday elected as the president of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Businessman Javed Ahmad Tenga was on Thursday elected as the president of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In a statement, a KCCI spokesman said the results of the recently-held elections were declared during its 83rd Annual General Meeting at Amar Singh Club on Thursday.

Nasir Hamid Khan was elected as the the new senior vice-president while Fayaz Ahmad Punjabi the new junior vice-president, the spokesman said, adding that Dr Gazalla Amin has been elected as the new secretary general.

While Muzaffar Majid Jan has been elected as the joint secretary general, Sheikh Imran will be the new treasurer, the statement said.

"The AGM was well attended. As part of the AGM agenda, results of the elections  for  Executive Committee of KCCI  for 2017-2018 were declared by Abdul Majid Matto, the Chairman, and two other members Dr Mubeen Shah and Nazir Ahmad Wani who formed the Election Commission for the KCCI polls," the statement said.

The other elected executive committee members include Manzoor Ahmad Pakhtoon, Parveez A Naqash, Asif Siddiq, Farooq Amin, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Adil Hussain, Ashfaq Siddiq Dug, Parveez Ahmad Bhat, Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, Chowdhary Muhammad Shahid, Altaf Ahmad Trumboo, Syed Masood A Shah, Sheikh Gowhar Ali, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad and Majid Aslam Wafai, the statement said.
