Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday opened his speech at Vijaypur in Jammu province in Dogri language. "Praavo Te Pehno, Ajj Migi Maa Vaishno Devi, Maa Bawe Aali De Bulawe Upar Itthe Aane Da Mauka Lagya Ae. Vijaypur Di Iss Rally Vich Assen Vijay Da Sankalp Lena Ye. Jammu and Kashmir Veeren Di Dharti Ye. Ass Dogre Aan Aakhneya Shaana Kanne, Assen Jeetiyan Ne Janga Damsana Kanne. 2019 Di Jang Bhi Desh Gi Agge Leijane Di Jang Ae. Aao Rali Miliye Desh Gi Tarakki Di Raah Upar Lei Chalche," he said in Dogri.

This part of the PM's speech translates in English as: "Dear brothers and sisters, today I have come here on the invite of goddess Vaishno Devi and Bawe Wali Mata. In this Vijaypur rally, we will take a pledge of victory. Jammu and Kashmir is the land of warriors. We are Dogras and we say it with pride. We have won battles with valour. And the battle of 2019 is also aimed at taking the country ahead. Let's come and join hands to take the country on the path of development".

Later, while addressing a gathering in Srinagar's SKICC, Modi spoke in Kashmiri and said: 

 "yeth teeri gatkaarus manz tchus bei mohabtuk aalaw karnie aamut…tuhindi khushali baapat chus bei aki lataie bayie aamut (I have come here in this bone-chilling cold to give an invitation of love; I have come here for your wellbeing once again)".
