The headless schools include Government Higher Secondary School Sultan Dhaki, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Uri, Government Higher Secondary School Bijhama, Government Higher Secondary School Chandanwari and Government Higher Secondary School Nambla.

Among the five headless schools, the newly upgraded school at Nambla is also facing shortage of staff.

"The overall education system in all these institutions has collapsed. In the absence of school heads, there is no accountability. The staff comes as per their convenience," said a local Fayaz Ahmad of Sultan Dhaki.

The locals have urged authorities to immediately depute heads to these institutions as students are suffering in Uri.
