AAG disengaged

Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday disengaged additional advocate general, HashimHussain. The development comes a day after his father and senior PDP leader Peer Muhammad Hussain questioned functioning of the coalition government.

The Law department today terminated the services of Hashim, who was looking after the cases of Social Welfare department and Services Selection Board in the High Court.

“Services of HashimHussain, additional advocate general are dispensed forthwith,” reads an order issued by the Law department.

Till further orders, Advocate General has been asked to look after the litigation work of departments which was assigned to Hussain.

Hussain’s father, who was close associate of late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, had resigned last year as vice chairman of Muslim Waqf Board following his differences with the PDP.

On Thursday while addressing a public gathering in his native area of Shangus, Hussain had said that “corruption is on rise in the state and the CM is surrounded by some sycophants”. GKNN
