Altaf Kira appointed JK Bank’s Chief Risk Officer

Srinagar, June 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank has appointed Altaf Hussain Kira as its Chief Risk Officer.

Kira is already an Assistant Vice President in the bank and his appointment has been made in compliance with the relevant Reserve Bank of India (RBI) directives, the bank said in a statement.

   

Kira holds a PhD in Economics and Post-Doctoral Fellowship from IGIDR, Mumbai. He is presently managing affairs of the Integrated Risk Management Department of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited for the last decade. Kira also holds a degree in MBA (Finance) from the University of Kashmir and CAIIB-II from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.

Kira’s vast banking experience spanning over 24 years shall come handy to the senior management of the Bank in the development and implementation of the Bank’s Risk Management functions, J&K Bank said in a communication to the National Stock Exchange. ” Dr Kira has dynamic nature and vast experience that makes him a good leader and motivator which shall help the Bank in strengthening the staff skills and adding value to the risk management systems, policies, processes, quantitative models and reports to ensure that the Bank’s risk management capabilities are sufficiently robust and effective to achieve its strategic objectives” the bank communique said.
