A few days after an MBA graduate took to arms in Doda and joined the Hizbul Mujahideen, another youngster there has gone over as well and joined militants. According to a source, the 32-year-old Masood disappeared on August 25 from his home and now becomes known that he has also taken to arms.

On September 1, Haroon Abbas Wani, an MBA graduate from Ghat Doda joined the Hizbul Mujahideen. "Masood is missing for last 10-days but so far we don't have any information about his joining militant ranks," a senior police officer said.

"The district police have constituted a special team to find him and will only able to comment only after the investigation is complete," he said.

Meanwhile, Kishtwar Police apprehended a top member of militant group the Hizbul Mujahideen, who was involved in encouraging young men and women to join the outfit. "Identified as Touseef Ahmad Gudna alias Abu Bakar, he was arrested on specific information received by Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday," a police spokesman said.

"Ever since, the case was registered on 1st July, 2018 and two accused belonging to HM outfit were arrested and a terror plan was thwarted the case, the case was withheld for want of his arrest," spokesperson said.

"The accused person is hardcore motivator, and encourages youth for joining militancy. His name came up during interrogation of the two Hizbul Mujahideen members who were arrested on July 1. With Gudna's arrest, there is a 'likelihood of decrease in militant activities and reduction in the number of youth indulging in anti-national activities", the police spokesman said.

Gudna, a close associate of HM's Mohammad Amin alias Jehangir, was also involved in a militancy-related case registered in police station Parimpora in Srinagar last year, said a spokesman.
