Baba Nagri Urs observed without congregation

Kangan, June 8: The 126th annual Urs of HazratMianNizam-ud-Din Kiyani (RA) was observed on Tuesday at Baba NagriWangath in Kangan with no congregation of devotees and very little participation of the devotees this year.

A few Ulemas attended the Urs and held night-long prayers with social distancing.

   

Special prayers were held on Tuesday morning with prominent religious personality and SajadaNasheenDarbar Baba JiLarvi (RA) Mian Bashir Ahmed praying for the peace and prosperity of the region and unity among Muslims.

Special prayers were also held for an end to coronavirus across the world, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir and for all those affected by the dreaded virus.

The Urs is observed in the first fortnight of June every year with thousands of devotees from within and outside J&K thronging the two-day event.

The shrine management had announced to cancel the Urs celebrations this year due to Covid-19.
