The cabinet on Friday approved the governor's proposed address to a joint sitting of the state legislature on January 2.
"The cabinet has approved the draft (of governor's address) for submission to the governor," cabinet spokesman and minister for public works department, Naeem Akther, told Greater Kashmir.
A source disclosed that the governor's address is likely to focus on prevailing political situation in the state and the "developmental initiatives" taken by the coalition government in the past three years.
"The appointment of interlocutor by the government of India is likely to find a mention in the address," the source said.
In October this year, the government of India appointed Dineshwar Sharma as its "special representative" for holding a dialogue with different segments of the society in Jammu and Kashmir.
