The J&K Government on Friday ordered a major reshuffle in the state administration, sources told Greater Kashmir.

According to sources, the State Cabinet which met here ordered posting of Baseer Ahmad Khan as Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. He shall replace Dr Asgar Samoon who has been posted as Commissioner/Secretary, Transport.

Raj Kumar Baghat has been posted as Secretary Animal Husbandry department while Sarita Chouhan has been given additional charge of Science & Technology department. Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Commissioner Secretary Law has been posted as Commissioner Secretary Revenue while Arshid Ayub, Special Secretary Home has been posted as Special Secretary to Chief Secretary.

Tassaduq Jeelani, Director Rural Development department has been posted as Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department.

Sources told Greater Kashmir that Director Information Zubair Ahmad has also been shifted from his present place of posting.

According to them, the cabinet has ordered more than 25 transfers and postings.

"The list would be communicated to media on Friday morning," an official said.

Meanwhile, Dr Farukh Nasir Paul, Assistant Director Employment, was today appointed as Under Secretary (Press & Publicity) in Chief Minister's office.  

Dr Paul, an officer from the combined services, was earlier posted as Information Officer in the Directorate of Information and was earlier this year transferred to Employment Department.
