Chrungoo expresses gratitude to UK MP Bob Blackman

Jammu, June 20: Senior BJP and KP leader and Incharge, Deptt of political affairs and Feedback, J&K-BJP, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo on Sunday expressed gratitude to Bob Blackman, UK MP for bringing a motion in the UK Parliament in regard to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits on the occasion of International Refugee Day on 20th June.

As per the Statement issued to Kashmir News Service, he said that It is recognition of the three decade old struggle in exile of the Kashmiri Pandit community scattered throughout the world.

   

Chrungoo while acknowledging the efforts of the UK MPs in London said that it needs to be emphasised that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) way back in 1999 in its decision on our complaint termed what was done to the Kashmiri Pandits as “acts akin to genocide”. Even the Delhi High Court observed, only some years back, that ethnic cleansing was done with the Pandits while the J&K High Court termed their mass exodus as “unparalleled”, which can’t be compared with other migrations.

Kashmiri Pandits have demanded that a Special Crimes Tribunal Court be constituted to bring the culprits to justice.
