Srinagar, June 1: The demise of eminent Islamic scholar and preacher, Mufti Faiz-ul-Waheed, who translated the holy Quran into Gojri language and passed away on Tuesday, has been widely condoled across Kashmir.
Expressing grief over his demise, National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah in their condolence message paid tributes to Mufti Waheed saying that he would be remembered for his ease of illuminating exposition of Islamic tenants and various facets of the holy Quran and the Hadith.
They also expressed unison with his admirers, family and friends in their hour of grief.
Senior NC leaders Ali Muhammad Sagar, Mustafa Kamal and NasirAslamWani also expressed unison with the bereaved family, friends and admirers of Mufti Waheed.
Apni Party President AltafBukhari also expressed grief over the demise of Mufti Waheed and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family members and prayed for the peace to the departed soul.
In a statement issued here, he said Mufti Waheed’s demise had created a huge void in the society as he was a spiritual leader who always inspired the people towards the path of peace and serenity.
“The deceased was a prominent Islamic scholar and a noted orator who during his lifetime always stressed on the necessity of cultivating values of philanthropy, simplicity and modest living among the people,” Bukhari said.
He said that his contribution to the society would always be remembered as he was the first Islamic scholar who translated the Holy Quran into Gojri language besides authoring several other books.
“I pray for the eternal peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family, friends and his followers,” he said.
Prominent religious and veteran Gujjar leader and SajjadaNasheenDarbar Baba Larvi, Mian Bashir Ahmad also expressed grief over the demise of Mufti Waheed.
In a statement issued here, Bashir termed Mufti Waheed’s demise as a major loss for the society and prayed for the peace to the departed soul.
Senior NC leader MianAltaf also expressed grief over the demise of Mufti Waheed.
He prayed for the peace to the departed soul and forberance to the bereaved family.
Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Chairman Hakeem Yaseen also expressed grief over the demise of Mufti Waheed .
In a condolence message, Yaseen described him as a great religious preacher and Islamic scholar.
He said Mufti Waheed had dedicated his entire life for preaching of Islamic education among the masses.
Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam also expressed grief over the demise of Mufti Waheed.
