A driver of a mini bus died after being hit by a stone in uptown here on Monday, police said. In a statement, a police spokesman said: "A Tata 407 (JK01D- 5095) bus driven by Ali Muhammed Dagga, 55, of Barthana Qamarwari was moving from Bemina towards Hyderpora where some miscreants were pelting stones near a school."
"Stones hit the driver who got injured and lost control due to which the bus collided with an electric pole on divider of bypass road. The driver was rushed to the nearby hospital. However, his life could not be saved," the spokesman said. "Police has taken cognizance of the incident and registered case FIR No. 45/2017 U/s 302 RPC at Police Station Batmaloo. Investigation has been taken up," the spokesman said. GKNN
