After a brief dry spell, weatherman on Thursday predicted that rains would lash Kashmir for next 24 hours.
"An active western disturbance is likely to affect Kashmir from midnight," Director, MeT Department, Sonam Lotus told Greater Kashmir.
"There are chances of light to moderate rain at scattered places across Kashmir," he said.
The rains would be accompanied by thundershowers, he said.
Lotus said there has been gradual increase in maximum and minimum temperatures.
Pertinently, in the first week of April, incessant rainfall and untimely snowfall in the plains had caused a flood-like situation in Kashmir. Due to continuous rainfall rivers, lakes and streams were flowing above the danger level. The flood control department had then declared floods.
