Free ambulance service launched in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 11: A Srinagar-based NGO ‘We the helping hands foundation’ has launched a free ambulance service in the summer capital.

The members of the NGO said that they have launched the service in view of the growing demand for ambulance amid Covid.

   

Mir Amjid, Chief operating officer of the NGO said “our organization has been providing a helping hand to people for many years and the free ambulance service is another part of it.”

“We started working in 2014. Since then we are trying to do our part for the society. I believe that Covid has been a huge challenge for everyone and this is the most important time that everyone must chip in. Marginalized people are not able to afford ambulance and we are trying to provide a helping hand,” Mir said.

The members said that the ambulance will be stationed at SKIMS hospital and will be free in Srinagar. Meanwhile, the president of the NGO, Umer Wani thanked people for their support. He said that they will continue to provide support to people amid the pandemic.
