Srinagar: The Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar has been closed till December 11 after some of the staff members of the colleges tested COVID19 positive on Tuesday.

The order in this regard has been issued by the college Principal Sheikh Aijaz Bashir. The college had arranged COVID-19 testing of staff members and students from Tuesday in a phased manner in view of surge in Covid-19 cases. “On the first day of testing some staff members tested positive,” the order reads.

It reads that the College will remain closed up to Saturday (December 11) for all kinds of activities to avoid any further surge in cases.

“On re-opening of the college on December 13, the students will attend the classes as per the timetable already notified,” the order said.

However, the college faculty has been asked to attend classes of the students through online mode.

“During the closure of the College, faculty members will conduct the classes in online mode through College LMS as per timetable in vogue,” the order said.

In the order, the college principal has directed all the staff members to report to the College for an RT-PCR test on December 10 “without fail”.

“Students will also visit the nearest health centre and get their RT-PCR test done on December 10,” the order reads.
