Surankote: J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina on Monday maintained that his party would sweep the next assembly elections and the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch would play a major part in its victory.

He was addressing a public rally at Surankote in Poonch district, a day after participating in a similar rally at Darhal in the neighbouring Rajouri district.

Raina congratulated the party workers and their families for their dedicated work and contribution in the growth of the party in the remotest parts of the region. He said, “Today BJP has become the first choice of masses owing to the dedicated work by the party workers at the ground level. The party workers are always present to help the needy and as a result the people have developed immense faith in the whole organisation.”

Earlier Raina was accorded a warm welcome by BJP workers after he reached Surankote. He was also accompanied by J&K BJP general secretary Vibodh Gupta, state executive member Devender Singh Rana, Mohammed Rafiq Chishti, Iqbal Malik besides other local party leaders in the rally.

J&K BJP president said that the support of Pahari population was paramount and BJP would be vocal for their demands especially their demand for ST status.

Devender Rana said that the Jammu division would be an equal partner in the governance of J&K.

He said that BJP was committed to equitable political empowerment of all sections of the society and equitable distribution of resources among all.

He said a sense of deprivation would be removed and all regions and sub regions of J&K including Rajouri, Poonch and Doda would get equal share in development and progress and no region or subregion would have hegemony over the other region.
