Department towards the frequent power cuts in Civil Secretariat Srinagar which is affecting the smooth functioning of the official work in the departments," reads a communication from GAD's Deputy Secretary, Reyaz Ahmed Wani to the PDD.

The GAD communication further says "Accordingly, it is requested that the necessary measures may kindly be taken for ensuring uninterrupted power supply at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar."

Meanwhile, Estates Department has issued a circular with directions to ensure heating arrangements for winters in the Civil Secretariat at Srinagar.

“With a view to ensure proper heating arrangement for ensuring winter at Civil Secretariat Srinagar, Estates Department is procuring gas cabinets (gas bukharies) and intends to issue all the in house offices in Civil Secretariat Srinagar as per requirement,” reads the circular issued by the Estates Department.

However, the circular says that “gas cylinders and fuel shall be arranged by intending departments themselves”.

Accordingly, it has impressed upon Director Finance, FA/CAO's, AO's and other Drawing and Disbursing Officers of various departments at the Civil Secretariat Srinagar to nominate individuals for taking over gas cabinets from in-charge central furniture store, Srinagar.

“It shall be incumbent on intending departments to ensure safety measures while using gas cabinets” the circular reads.
