Rajouri: Army Thursday said that foiling an infiltration attempt and killing of one militant in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district is a major success.
The operation that started on Wednesday entered into its second day on Thursday.
The operation was launched on Wednesday morning after an infiltration attempt by a group of militants was intercepted by Army troops deployed on line of control in Ashwini Gap area of Kalal in Nowshera sector.
General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division Rajouri, Major General Rajeev Puri addressed a press conference at Nowshera brigade headquarter on Thursday.
He said that on Wednesday morning, a group of infiltrators tried to sneak in from Line of Control but alert army troops foiled the attempt.
“They were engaged and neutralised through surveillance grid and fire assault,” he said.
The officer said that the body of one of the militants killed in the operation was recovered and arms and ammunition including one AK rifle have been recovered from the militant killed.
