Rajouri: Security forces lifted the cordon in Nar Khas forests of Bhata Dhurian in Mendhar sub-division of Poonch, however the searches continued in the area even on 19th day on Monday.
The cordon was laid in the area after an encounter broke out in Nar Khas on October 14 in which four army personnel were killed. Soon after the gunfight broke out, a multi-tier cordon was laid by army and the police all around the encounter site.
The areas of Nar Khas in Bhata Dhurian as well as Sanjiote village remained under cordon for nineteen days.
“On Monday, the cordon in the area has been lifted but searches are still going on and teams are on the job,” officials said.
They added that the entire area was under surveillance.
