Last week, the security forces killed four militants, including two commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), who, police had said were involved in the killing of migrant labourers in Kashmir.

Two labourers from Bihar were gunned down recently when militants had barged into their accommodation in Kulgam district, taking the number of civilians killed in targeted attacks in Kashmir this month to 11. Another labourer had also sustained bullet injuries in the incident.

Among the 11 civilians killed, five were migrant workers killed in targeted attacks on civilians in Kashmir this month.

Security forces have stepped up counter-insurgency operations and security across Kashmir in the aftermath of the attacks.

On Saturday, Union home minister Amit Shah chaired a security meeting in Srinagar in the backdrop of the civilian killings in Kashmir.
