Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary charge sheet against an operative of the Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) outfit in a case related to the recovery of arms, explosives and heroin in Poonch district.
“Yesterday (04.12.2021) NIA filed supplementary chargesheet against accused person Mohd Nakeem Khan @ Nakeem Ali S/o Mohd Mushtaq R/o Sandote, District Poonch in RC-02/2021/NIA/JMU.pertaining to recovery of arms and ammunition, explosive substances, heroin belonging to terrorist organisation Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) and its off-shoot Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) in Poonch, J&K” said a statement.
This case, NIA said, had arisen out of PS Mendhar case No. 292 /2020, dated 27.12.2020 and NIA re-registered the same as RC-02/2021/NIA/JMU on 16.03.2021.
The probe agency said investigation by NIA has unearthed the conspiracy hatched by accused Mohd Nakeem along with other charge-sheeted accused and handlers of TuM / JKGF who were operating from across the border and had facilitated transportation of arms and ammunition, explosives and narcotics from Line of Control (LoC), Balakot, to interior areas of Poonch. Earlier NIA had filed chargesheet against 7 accused persons on 24.06.2021 and against two others on 04.10.2021, it said adding that further investigation in the case continues.
