Azamgarh (UP): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that it was due to the grit and determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Article 370 was abolished making Jammu & Kashmir an integral part of the country in the true sense.
The Home Minister, who was on a two-day visit to Purvanchal in Uttar Pradesh, put forth his thoughts during two back-to-back public rallies in Azamgarh and Basti.
It may be mentioned that last month, in his first public rally in J&K after the August 2019 revocation of its special status, Shah had said that the “discriminatory” Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, was scrapped because of personal efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfil the dream of Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
Shah had said that PM Modi restored the grassroots democracy and started a new phase of development in J&K where lakhs of people faced injustice under the garb of Article 370.
