Srinagar: A search operation was launched by the security forces in the Redwani area of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Wednesday night.
Police said two militants were likely to be trapped in the area. The area was cordoned-off after specific inputs of presence of two militants in the area, police added. “Search operation in the area is underway and two militants are likely to be trapped,” police said.
Police said some warning shots were fired but added that there was no retaliatory fire.
“There was no retaliatory firing from the militants,” Police said reinforcements of police, Army and CRPF arrived at the spot.
“Exit and entrance points have been sealed,” police said adding that lights have been installed so that militants do not take advantage of darkness and flee from spot.
