Kupwara: The slain policeman Fayaz Ahmad Lone from Kupwara, killed in a militant attack on Friday evening at Bandipora, was laid to rest at his ancestral village on Saturday.
Lone along with another policeman Muhammad Sultan was killed in a militant attack in Bandipora.
Lone was recruited in the police department around 15 years ago and was presently posted at Bandipora.
Scores of people participated in Lone’s nimaz-e-janaza. The deceased policeman was later laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard. He was presented with a guard of honor.
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar along with other senior police officers visited the slain policeman’s residence.
Meanwhile, a large number of people had gathered at Muqam Dangerpora, Sopore to take part in the nimaz-e-jinaza of another slain police constable on Saturday morning. According to locals, the body of slain Muhammad Sultan son of Ghulam Nabi reached his native village on Saturday morning.
Muhammad Sultan was a selection grade policeman who was appointed fifteen years ago. The slain police constable was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Muqam Dangerpora, Sopore.
