Tamil Nadu Chopper Crash | J&K politicians across party lines condole demise

Srinagar: Political leaders cutting across party lines in Jammu and Kashmir have condoled the demise of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat and 12 others in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

Taking to Twitter former Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah wrote: “Condolences to the families of Gen Rawat & the others killed in the helicopter crash earlier today. May their souls rest in peace”.

   

Former Chief Minister and People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has also condoled the demise.

“A terrible tragedy. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.

Apni Party President Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari has also expressed heartfelt condolences over the demise of CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife and other officials.

In a condolence message issued here, Bukhari described the mishap as extremely heart-wrenching while terming the demise of Chief of Defense Staff General as an irreparable loss.

“It is saddening news that General Bipin Rawat along-with his wife and 11 other armed forces personnel lost their lives in an ominous incident in Tamil Nadu. His untimely demise has left a huge void hard to be filled. I extend my deep solidarity with the bereaved family members in this hour of grief and pray for their forbearance to bear this huge loss,” he said. Besides, Apni Party leadership also conveyed their sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

People’s Conference chairman Sajad Lone also took to Twitter and expressed grief. “A terrible tragedy. Heartfelt Condolences on the death of CDS Mr Bipin Rawat. Rest in Peace” Lone wrote on Twitter.

BJP leader Devender Singh Rana also condoled the demise. “Tragic and Sad CDS General Rawat gone with his boots on . Salute to the Great General .Rest in Peace Sir” Rana wrote on Twitter.

In a statement issued here, the Jammu and Congress Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed grief and anguish over the death of first CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and team in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu.

“The death of Gen. Rawat is indeed a huge loss to the Nation. My deepest condolences to family, friends and colleagues of Gen. Rawat,” Mir said in his condolences message. The JKPCC President prayed for eternal peace to departed souls.

Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen has also condoled the demise.

In a statement Hakeem Yaseen while condoling demise of Bipin Rawat ,his family members and other army officers on board to an Army Chopper , said that the country has lost a capable general who’s demise has created a void that would be difficult to fill .

Hakeem Yaseen has conveyed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and has prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
