Ganderbal residents appeal LG’s admin to repair link road

Ganderbal, June 8: The residents of Wurpash, Upper Wayil, Gutlibagh and adjoining localities in Ganderbal appealed the authorities to repair the main Chapargund-Upper Wayil link road connecting the Srinagar-Leh highway.

According to the residents, the road that connects it to Srinagar-Leh highway is in shambles with potholes causing inconvenience to the commuters.

They said that the concerned authorities had failed to macadamise the link road as it was in a dilapidated condition for the past several years.

The residents urged the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and the concerned authorities to look into their grievances and take necessary steps for their redress.

“The dilapidated condition of Chapper Gund-Upper Wayil road reflects the inattentive nature of the authorities to its citizens. Years have passed when the work on this road started. The poor people of the area gave their land for the road. However, it seems that they have been left to suffer. People prefer walking over boarding vehicles as it has highly affected them. In medical emergency, travelling on the road is a big challenge,” said a local.

“We appeal the LG’s administration to take an effective note of this matter and redress our grievance,” he said
