Governor Satya Pal Malik Tuesday appointed Jagjit Kumar, former inspector general of police, as a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.

This newspaper last week exclusively reported the state administrative council’s recommendation to appoint Kumar as a member of the premier recruitment agency.
