Jammu and Kashmir would observe the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji on Thursday will religious fervour and gaiety.
Members of Sikh community would throng Gurudwaras across the state to participate in various celebrations to mark the occasion.
Governor N. N. Vohra has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion. In a message of felicitations, the Governor observed that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a warrior and a philosopher-poet who strived for establishing a society based on equality, brotherhood and respect for women.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has greeted people on the occasion. In her message, the CM said Jammu & Kashmir has been an abode of communal harmony and these occasions strengthen the inter-community bonds which, she said, is need of the hour.
Deputy Chief Minister DrNirmal Singh has also greeted the people on the occasion.
National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah have felicitated the people of the State on the occasion.
In their message, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah said Guru Gobind Singh symbolized the virtues of truth, righteousness and universal brotherhood – values that needed to be preserved and nurtured in today's world.
