2 Covid- 19 fatalities in Srinagar, Baramulla , 144 new positive cases in J&K

Srinagar: Continuing the rise in fatalities this month, the pandemic killed two more people in Kashmir today, the death toll of the virus 4455 now. Another 144 people tested positive today.

The two fresh casualties that took place in the past 24 hours took the COVID19 casualties to 24 in the month of November, official data states. The deceased belonged to district Srinagar and district Baramulla.

   

The two districts have been recording a high number of COVID19 deaths this month. In Srinagar, 858 casualties have been recorded, while 285 deaths have been recorded in Baramulla. The death toll of the virus reached 4455 during the pandemic period.

Today 144 people tested positive in J&K. Of these, 125 were from Kashmir division and 19 from Jammu division. Srinagar had 51 new cases today, Baramulla 21, Ganderbal 16 and Pulwama 12. In Jammu, 13 cases were recorded in district Jammu. Kishtawar, Samba, Kathua, Reasi, Shopian and Kulgam had no fresh cases today while other districts had single digit positives. Rajouri and Doda had one case each.

In the past 24 hours, 115 people were reported to have recovered from the infection, 101 from Kashmir division and 14 from Jammu division. J&K Government, in its official bulletin on COVID19 said 49140 samples were tested in one day. With 144 of these positive, the positive percentage of samples stood at 0.29. There has been very little change in the positive percentage of samples over the past week, although the number of cases has varied.

The cumulative vaccination in 20 districts of J&K today was 67150. Of these, nearly 3000 people received their first dose of the COVID19 vaccine. In Srinagar, less than 500 doses were dispensed. Over 13000 doses were given in Jammu district.
