COVID-19 | 78% eligible population in south Kashmir fully vaccinated: Health Deptt

Anantnag: Nearly 78 percent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated in south Kashmir, the Department of Health said Sunday.

The region comprises four districts – Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, and Shopian.

   

Shopian is leading with 82 percent population, receiving both the dosage of the Covishield.

The district has a 2,01,909 target population above the age of 18 years.

“We have so far fully immunised 1,64,651 people in the district,” a health official said.

In Kulgam, 81 percent of the targeted population has been fully vaccinated

“Of the target of 3,98,001 we have so far fully immunised 3,22,132 people,” an official said.

Pulwama now has a 79 percent eligible population that is fully vaccinated.

“Of the target of 4,25,062 persons, we have 3,37,309 persons we have received both shots of Covishield,” an official said.

Anantnag, which is the largest district in terms of population, now has 75 percent fully vaccinated people.

“A total of 5,54,596 in the age group of above 18 have received both dosages of vaccine,” an official said.

He said that the district had a target of 7,42,073 people.

So far, around 80 percent population in J&K has been fully vaccinated.
