COVID-19 | DHSK felicitates health workers

Srinagar: Director Health Services, Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Thursday felicitated the healthcare workers at Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Batamaloo and distributed appreciation certificates for their work during mitigation of COVID-19.

A spokesperson of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) in a statement issued here said that the event was organised to felicitate healthcare workers of the Batamaloo zone for their work during the pandemic.

   

Dr Rather was the chief guest on the occasion and gave awards and appreciation certificates to health workers for their work during the mitigation of Covid-19.

Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the work of the healthcare workers and credited the low mortality rate during the Covid-19 pandemic in Kashmir to them.

“Mortality was low than the national average. I appreciate their work and salute their commitment and dedication in managing Covid patients in hospitals,” Dr Rather said.

He said that the fight was almost impossible without the work of the healthcare workers while the support of the district and divisional administration was paramount.

Speaking about achieving the targets of COVID-19 vaccination, Dr Rather said that the credit of the vaccination goes to the health workers of the department who went from door-to-door and village-to-village to get people vaccinated.

“The credit of the vaccination targets that we achieved goes to them. They put themselves and their families at risk but worked with zeal and zest,” he said.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Srinagar DrNighat, District Immunisation Officer DrNighat, and Zonal Medical Officer BatamalooDrSameena Jan were also present on the occasion.
