Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Sunday toured hospitals of south Kashmir to review the status of under-construction buildings and COVID-19 management in the hospitals.
A spokesperson of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) issued here said that Dr Rather visited Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara and Trauma Hospital Bijbehara where he inspected the under-construction building and all sections of the hospitals.
The spokesman said that Dr Fazil Kouchal of the National Health Mission (NHM), Medical Superintendent SDH Bijbehara Dr Abdul Gani, and Assistant Executive Engineers of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation accompanied Dr Rather.
He said that Dr Rather stressed on executing agencies to expedite the work on the project given the COVID-19 and complete it at the earliest.
The spokesman said that the concerned executive agencies assured Dr Rather that the work would be expedited.
He said that Dr Rather also took a review of the COVID-19, COVID maternity care, and healthcare arrangements being provided to the people.
The spokesman said that Dr Rather also visited PHC Ashmuqam where he also took a review of the under-construction building for the hospital.
He said that Dr Rather also visited Public Health Centre (PHC) Pahalgam and took the review of the under-construction building where he was briefed about the new upcoming hospital for which the creation of 26 posts of various discipline had already been sanctioned by the government.
The spokesman said that Dr Rather stressed upon the engineers that, Pahalgam being a vital tourist place, the work on the building should be expedited at the earliest.
He said that Dr Rather later visited SDH Seer where he took a review of the functioning of the hospital.
