Heroin, arms seized in Tangdhar: Police

Kupwara, June 25: An infiltration bid was foiled on the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said on Friday. An official said that police along with Army's 7RR and 87 battalion of BSF foiled an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector.

He said that one AK47, one pistol, two grenades and other ammunition as well as 6 packets of heroin worth Rs 30 crores left by the infiltrators were recovered.

Kashmir Zone police in a tweet said: “Kupwara Police along with 7RR and 87Bn BSF foiled infiltration bid at Tangdhar area. Recovered arms , ammunitions & drugs left behind by the infiltrators including 1 AK47, 1 Pistol, 2 grenades & other ammunition & 6 packets of Heroin (market value approx Rs 30 Crs).”
