High-level panel to demarcate Auqaf land at Gandhi Nagar

Jammu: The government Thursday constituted a high-level committee for demarcation of Auqaf land at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu to ensure its commercial exploitation.

As per the GAD order, sanction has been accorded to the constitution of a high-level committee for demarcation of the land falling under Khasra No 73 of the revenue village RakhBahu in tehsil Bahu of district Jammu (adjacent to the Circular Park Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar) based on available documents, reports, maps, records and ground situation to ensure its commercial exploitation through the J&K Housing Board.

The committee would comprise Divisional Commissioner Jammu as its chairman while Commissioner Survey and Land Records J&K and Deputy Commissioner Jammu and an officer to be nominated by the Administrative Secretary Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs would be its members.

Managing Director J&K Housing Board will be its member secretary.

As per the terms of reference, the panel would verify and scrutinise all documents on record, demarcation reports, and maps.

It would perform necessary groundwork to unravel the truth and submit “the exact position of 61 kanal of the Auqaf land situated adjacent to the Circular Park at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar, Khasra No 73 of revenue village RakhBahu in tehsil Bahu of district Jammu”.

“The committee should submit its report within 15 days from the date of issuance of the order,” directed GAD Commissioner Manoj Kumar Dwivedi.
