Ganderbal: Police on Thursday said that they solved a burglary case and arrested an accused in this regard.

An official said that on November 29, Police Station Kangan received a complaint from a shopkeeper, Mohammad Saif Khan of Tawheedpora Kangan regarding burglary in his gold shop during the intervening night of November 28 and 29 at TawheedporaKangan.

A special police team was constituted headed by SHO Police Station Kangan Turk Zahoor under the supervision of SDPO YasirQadri.

They said during the course of investigation, with the help of CCTV footage and other technical tools, it surfaced that the accused fled from District Ganderbal to Handwara to evade the arrest.

In this connection, a special team was dispatched to Handwara to nab the accused. A tip off was received that the accused was moving towards Jammu and with the help of Bijbehara Police, accused was finally intercepted at Sangam and was taken into the custody by Police party of police station Kangan. The arrested burglar was identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone of MaritgamHandwara.
