CASO in Shopian villages

Shopian: Security forces Thursday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in three villages of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A Police official said that columns of Army, CRPF, and Police ring-fenced Reshnagri village of the district at around 3.30 am and conducted door-to-door searches.

He said that in the afternoon, the forces surrounded Devpora and Chakoo villages and carried out searches.

“CASO was launched after the forces received inputs about the presence of militants in these areas,” the Police official said.

He said that the CASO ended peacefully as no militant was found in these villages.
