Drop- out students can do vocational course | Kendriya Vidyalaya Panthachowk made Skill Hub Center

Srinagar: Kendriya Vidyalaya number 3 BSF Panthachowk, Srinagar has been made a Skill Hub Center by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, government of India where drop - out students will be able to take steps towards getting employment after doing free vocational courses.

According to a press note, due to various reasons drop-out students of Kashmir who are unable to do many types of job oriented vocational courses will not have to be disappointed now.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 500 schools have been made Skill Hub centers, out of which the only selected Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kashmir is Kendriya Vidyalaya No.3 Srinagar has been made Training Center for SHI. In this centre, in the initial phase, the Counter Sales Executive course (Tourism and Hospitality) is being started from January 1, 2022. Kanwar Singh, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.3 Srinagar, said that since Kashmir is a wonderful and beautiful tourist hub of India so “we have opted this course.”

This course will be recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). In this course a batch of 15 to 40 beneficiaries will be made. The age of the beneficiary for the course should be between 15 to 29 years. This course will be of six months duration, the special thing for this course is that the beneficiary will not have to pay any kind of fee. Training will be imparted by qualified trainer.

Classes will be held in the evening after school hours and the beneficiaries Aadhar based biometric attendance will be compulsorily recorded. At least 75 percent attendance is mandatory for the course. After the examination, the certificate will be given to the successful candidates.
