Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan chaired a meeting of the concerned officers here the other day to review the progress on the houses being constructed under PM Awas Yojna(U) in the urban areas of the district and also to resolve the issue of lack of coordination between sponsoring and financing agencies.
The meeting was attended by the CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; LDM, Jyoti Prakash Sharma; EO Municipal Council and Municipalities and Branch Managers.
The DDC said that PMAY-U is an ambitious scheme of the Government, which intends to provide housing for all urban dwellers by the year 2022.
"On one side we talk of the development of all sections of the society but on the other side, the lack of interdepartmental coordination between the sponsoring and financing agencies in this scheme creates a hindrance in the developmental process", DC said while chairing a meeting to review the status of cases sponsored by the Departments.
The meeting was informed that 141 cases of the BLC beneficiaries under PMAY-U have been sponsored by the JK Housing Board and are pending at different branches of the J&K Bank for financing. The DC asked the Bank Authorities to make sure that all the sponsored cases are sanctioned in seven days.
